Atypical Vascular Neoplasm of the Cavernous Sinus (Low-to-Intermediate Grade)
- Rare benign neoplasm of the cavernous sinus
- Clinical Features: Headaches and diplopia
- Key Diagnostic Features: Heterogeneous signal on T2WI, with areas of decreased signal on T2WI and heterogeneous signal on delayed T1WI post contrast. This neoplasm is differentiated from a cavernoma, which demonstrates increased signal on T1WI and T2WI as well as delayed contrast pooling/enhancement.
- DDx: Cavernoma, aneurysm, meningioma, lymphoma, metastasis, pseudotumor
- Rx: If symptomatic, radiation therapy and pain management
