This 288-page softcover book is written either for those who are starting their training in radiology and pediatric radiology or for those who wish to have a review of pediatric radiology. It is akin to the Essentials course presented at the Radiological Society of North America meeting but goes further than that. It covers all the fields in pediatric radiology (airway, chest, cardiac, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, musculoskeletal, and neurology) and does it by illustrating common entities and describing them well. A resident may wish to read the neuroradiology section before or while on the neurology rotation. It covers advanced techniques, echoencephalography, congenital abnormalities (of course), and the realm of neurologic problems anticipated in children. This is an easy read with excellent images. In fact, it may just spur a neuroradiologist needs in order to review some long-forgotten pearls in pediatric radiology.
