AB  - We describe two cases of coil malpositioning that occurred during endovascular occlusion of saccular basilar tip aneurysms with fibered platinum microcoils. The technique of endovascular coil extraction, accomplished successfully and without complication in both cases, is described and may be applicable to recently available controlled-detachment coil systems.
