Several case reports are presented. The detachable balloon technique proved valuable in the treatment of traumatic carotid-cavernous fistula and giant aneurysm. Calibrated-leak balloon catheterization with fluid embolization was used to treat cerebral arteriovenous malformation. Selection of embolic material is discussed.
