    American Journal of Neuroradiology February 2025, 46 (2) 372-379; DOI: https://doi.org/10.3174/ajnr.A8486

This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to determine whether the presence of IVLs and CN VIII NVC on MRI is associated with tinnitus, SNHL, or vertigo and any specific subtypes. It was found that CN VIII NVC is associated with vestibular paroxysmia, and IVL is associated with sudden-onset SNHL. No association was found between IVL or CN VIII NVC and undefined tinnitus, SNHL, and vertigo.

    American Journal of Neuroradiology February 2025, 46 (2) 259-264; DOI: https://doi.org/10.3174/ajnr.A8546

This cross-sectional retrospective study assessed the PFD in patients with spontaneous internal carotid artery dissection or carotid atherosclerotic plaque, with and without IPH. The results showed that the average PFDs in patients with SICAD and carotid atherosclerosis plaque with IPH were similar and higher than those in patients with carotid plaque without IPH, suggesting a shared pathologic inflammatory mechanism in these 2 conditions.

    American Journal of Neuroradiology January 2025, 46 (1) 24-32; DOI: https://doi.org/10.3174/ajnr.A8469

This review discusses the 3 key MRI sequences for ARIA monitoring and standardized imaging protocols and provides imaging recommendations for 3 key patient scenarios. All patients on anti-amyloid immunotherapy should have T2* gradient-recalled echo (to evaluate for ARIA-H), 2D or 3D T2 FLAIR (to evaluate for ARIA-E), and DWI (to differentiate ARIA-E from acute ischemia). Patient imaging scenarios are 1) baseline dementia diagnosis/treatment enrollment evaluation, 2) asymptomatic ARIA monitoring, and 3) evaluation of the symptomatic patient on anti-amyloid immunotherapy.
