Supplemental movies for Yildiz H, Erdogan C, Yalcin R, Yazici, Hakyemez B, Parlak M, and Tuncel E. Evaluation of Communication between Intracranial Arachnoid Cysts and Cisterns with Phase-Contrast Cine MR Imaging. AJNR Am J Neuroradiol 2005;26:145-151.

    Files in this Data Supplement:

    • Movie 1 (901 KB) - Midsagittal closed looped phase contrast cine MR image of the patient presented in figure 3. Normal CSF flow pattern obtained from the central CSF spaces. No CSF flow is seen in the cyst located at the quadrygeminal cistern. But CT cisternography obtained from the same patient proved that this was a communicating cyst which although showed no enhancement on early images but on delayed images (Fig 3).
    • Movie 2 (931 KB) - 49-year-old man with a communicating right cerebellopontin angle arachnoid cyst suffering from vertigo (Table 1, patient number 8). Axial closed looped phase contrast cine MR image clearly showes the flow related intensity changes between the subarachnoid space and cyst.
    • Movie 3 (818 KB) - Coronal closed looped phase contrast cine MR image of the patient presented in figure 1. 20-year-old male patient suffering from headaches with a communicating left middle cranial fossa arachnoid cyst. Hyperintense signal arising from left chiasmatic cistern represents the communication with the subarachnoid space.
    • Movie 4 (602 KB) - Coronal closed looped phase contrast cine MR image of the patient presented in figure 4. 66-year-old woman with type III left sided middle cranial fossa cyst. Although communication with the cisternal space is unlikely in type III cysts, there is evident flow jet proves the communication.
