Lateral common carotid artery injection. A and B, Early (A ) and late phase (B ) images show a carotid paraganglioma in loco typico, with arterial supply from the ascending pharyngeal artery, proximal tiny vessels from the ECA, and the proximal ICA (arrows). C, Immediately after embolization, the tumor was devascularized. D, The unsubtracted image shows the Onyx cast in the tumor bed.

Embolization technique after percutaneous tumor puncture. A parenchymogram was obtained (A ), and injection of Onyx was started by using a roadmap technique (B ) with inflation of the microballoon (C ) to protect the lumen of the ICA.
