This article reviews the current clinical application of PCD-CT in head and neck imaging, specifically the temporal bones, facial bones, and paranasal sinuses. PCD-CT offers improved spatial resolution, better iodine contrast-to-noise ratio, reduced artifact, and lower radiation dose.

The authors compared low-field portable and standard MR images of ventricular volume in the same pediatric patient. They showed high correlation in the estimates of ventricular volume between the 2 types of MR imaging, without systemic bias.

Lesion phenotype (ie, different levels of axonal and myelin loss and spatial distribution) was characterized using quantitative susceptibility mapping, susceptibility-weighted imaging, T1-relaxometry, myelin mapping, and diffusion MRI. A more severe disease course was observed in hyperintense and paramagnetic rim lesions in the periventricular white matter.
