This study uses simultaneous PET/MRI, which integrates structural connectivity, functional connectivity, and glucose metabolism in IGE to elucidate abnormalities of the neocortex and to analyze the correlations between these abnormalities and clinical presentations. The results show dissociated patterns of abnormalities: structural connectivity abnormalities in the limbic and visual networks, functional connectivity deficits in the default mode network, and metabolic reductions in the frontoparietal and somatomotor networks.

This review article covers the established imaging modalities (eg, CT, CTA, DSA, FLAIR, 3D TOF-MRA, contrast-enhanced MRA) and novel MR techniques (MR vessel wall imaging, dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI, computational fluid dynamics) of intracranial aneurysm evaluation. Artificial intelligence software and its integration into diagnostic and risk-stratification pipelines for intracranial aneurysms are also discussed.
