"White" Dermoid
- Intracranial dermoids are rare congenital lesions.
- Dermoids contain skin adnexal structures (hair follicles, sebaceous and sweat glands).
- Typically they show low-density mass CT.
- CT Hyperdense dermoids are extremely rare. Dense appearance may be explained by a combination of high protein concentration, intralesional hemorrhage or saponification of lipid or keratinized debris with secondary microcalcification in suspension.
- All of the reported CT hyperattenuating dermoids have occurred in the posterior fossa with no lesions ever having been identified supratentorially.
