Intraventricular Migration of Silicone Oil
- Silicone is used to provide mechanical tamponade after retinal detachment.
- Ventricular migration is a rare complication of intravitreous silicone oil injection.
- It is hypothesized that silicone enters the optic nerve and dissects into the perioptic subarachnoid space, subsequently migrating to the ventricles.
- Key Diagnostic Features: Hyperdense material in a nondependant portion within the ventricular system
- DDx: Blood, pantopaque
